MINISTRIES

Small Groups

Our church family meets every Sunday morning at 11:00 for Sunday School "Small Groups." We're currently using the ABC study material from Answers in Genesis, which covers the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, chronologically! The entire church (from Pre-K to Adults) are learning the same vital truths from God's Word each week. This is an awesome opportunity for parents to review what they've learned with their children at home, and for each of our members, no matter the age, to become "thoroughly equipped for every good work." Call 618-585-4544 for more information.

Youth Group

Our current Youth Group is one of the most amazing bunch of teens possible to find, ever. Period. You've got to see it to believe it--God is working in these young people, as they are yielding their lives to Him! An example to the younger children as well as the adults, our teens are anxious to serve God--and their commitment is contagious! With God's help, our teens work hard to keep out of cliques, and to include, love, and befriend anyone they come across! God is saving souls and disciples are being made through the Holy Spirit's work in our teens! Our Youth Group meets every Wednesday night at 6pm, and every Sunday night after church service (around 7:30 pm). Call 618-585-4544 for more information.

Young Adults

Our College & Career group covers many different backgrounds and jobs, but each shares the common bond of Christ in their life! We're currently focusing on this group as a special and highly-important part of our church, and we always want to make fellowship together a priority. With the struggle to be in the World, but not of it, we all need an encouraging group to build us up and hold us accountable. If you are interested in being a part of this group - call Ryan at 618-535-5199, and he will get you set up! We are super excited about growing this group of believers, and we can't help but hope you'll be a vital partner with us in that!

Senior Soldiers

Our church family is blessed to have many fantastic senior citizens in our flock, who lead by example, mentor, and pray for our church body! We are firm in our conviction that these dear people are not "past their prime", but are in reality a crucial and indispensable part of our family! We, therefore, are constantly encouraging them with ways to stay involved, so that they can "fight the good fight of faith" and "press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
Our church family is in the process of securing two new shuttle buses (including a wheelchair lift), so that our Senior Soldiers can not only experience more fellowship together, but also be able to travel to events or places of interest, together! If you would like more information, please call 618-585-4544.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers from our Prayer Warriors team pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs.

Ladies' Group

Each month, our women get together by meeting in one another's homes or at the church facility. They have taken on the ministry of praying for our missionaries' specifically, as well as creating projects to better serve our college kids, missionaries, Shut-Ins, and anyone else the Spirit directs them to encourage! In March of 2015, they added a Bible Study, "True Womanhood 101" (http://www.truewoman101.com/) to their evenings, which is proving to be a wonderful time of fellowship together! Our ladies meet the second Tuesday of each month, at 7:00 pm. If you would like more information, please call 618-585-4544.

Marriage Counseling

Marriages can be difficult to maintain. Misunderstanding, confusion, resentment, and anger can flare up in any marriage. Several couples at our church serve other families as marriage counselors. Their role in listening, understanding, helping, and encouraging struggling couples has, by God’s grace, saved marriages, and repaired relationships. Couples have found fresh hope and new joy in a warm and fulfilling relationship with their spouse.

Trail Guide

Berean has just published a discipleship program for children, aged 3rd grade - 6th grade. We have "Rangers" to help guide the children, each week, in their work. Please talk to Pastor Ryan if you are interested in helping out! Training sessions have been recorded and are available to you.
If you have a child who would like to participate, please contact Pastor Ryan at 618-585-4544.

WHERE CAN I SERVE?

Stewardships

We believe that, according to New Testament teachings, the entire church family is to be involved in ministry, not just the Pastors and deacons. Therefore, we have divided up many ministry opportunities into smaller "stewardships", which any member may volunteer to serve in. Whether it's the "Kitchen Stewardship" or the "Security Team Stewardship", we are anxious for each member to be involved in service to our Lord! Call 618-585-4544, or see the Stewardships book in the Narthex, for more information.

Mission Teams

Berean is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. Occasionally, the opportunity arises for us to visit and work at one of these remote locations. We love to put mission teams together, and, in order to do that, need volunteers who are serious about serving God (rather than just having fun). You may never know, this side of Heaven, how much of an impact you might have becuase of y. Let someone on the church staff know you're interested, today!

Music & Art

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. If you would like to serve through music, grab one of the blue slips on the counter in the Narthex, fill it out, and give it to Pastor Ryan, who will then get your special music on the calendar. We are also excited about an interest, here at Berean, in using art to worship God. If you would like to submit an art project, see Abi Warix. She'll be able to best evaluate where and how the artwork can be used. There are also many opportunities to serve through dramas and special programs. Email us at bereanbh@gmail.com or speak with our church staff, if interested in participating!

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.

Children & Youth

There are many opportunities to work with our youth group and children ministries! We welcome the extra help, especially when the help has enthusiasm and creativity! Our young ones at Berean are very important to us. We recognize that they are each a valuable part of our family. So, in an effort to protect them, as well as our youth workers, we have a very thorough screening process for each worker before they can serve with our youth, as well as a set of rules to be followed while working with them. 'Above all else, we do this in order to keep Christ's testimony pure and spotless in the World.

Shut-Ins

Our Church Shut-Ins are such dear people, who we are burdened for, because of the lack of fellowship they can participate in. As they're unable to get out of the house, we are always excited to hear of church members who can visit, call on the phone, bake a special treat, study the Bible with, or otherwise encourage these dear, loved ones. If you would like to get involved, give the church office a call at 618-585-4544, or email us at bereanbh@gmail.com.
